Crappy potato pictures, but you get the gist. I’ll bring my real camera next time. So, before:
After:
The paint turned out beautifully. It looked absolutely amazing in the sunlight. And check out this Land Cruiser that showed up at one of our stores. I’m trying to get that car in for a detail some day.

How much roughly would a detail like this cost:
1. Washed the car regularly (once a month)
2. Bought brand new
3. Applied liquid wax/quick detailer
4. Panels are fairly “smooth”. Only rough surface is the hood, and it isn’t that rough
5. Interior has been kept clean since purchase
6. Car is a 2012. Any idea?

Doesn’t even look dirty in the before pictures. The before pictures are better than most “so-called”detailers after pictures. You know...the ones that have never heard of a clay bar.

Looks great! I’m entertaining the idea of washing (instead of going to a car wash) and detailing my MDX for the first time ever this season; any tips for a newbie, who would most likely be doing it outside? (my garage doesn’t have enough room to park inside)

Seriously. If my car looked as good as the before picture right now I’d be ecstatic. Lol

Haha ya this wasn’t the best example of a car for before and after, but a few people asked so I provided! I’ll be doing it on cars in the future that have a drastic difference.
The car was reallllllly clean when i got it. It just needed a good clay due to some bugs being buried in the paint and a tiny bit of sap here and there. The was/sealant I used really made the paint pop in the sunlight. You can kinda tell that from the pictures haha

I did a complete detail on this car and it cost the customer $275. I touched the car bottom to top, front to back, inside and out.
We have three different detail options. There is an exterior detail that costs $175, and interior which costs the same, and the complete which is $275. I don’t know the going rate for details at other shops but where I work, the customers most definitely get their money’s worth.

That sounds super reasonable. How much man-hours of work on average for a car that has been taken care of?

Thanks!
Get some good soap! Don’t get a soap/wax combo, just regular car wash soap. After washing, make sure to clay bar it! That is really what sets apart a great paint detail from a not so great paint detail. If you’ve got clear coat problems, get a good polish compound to get rid of scratches, follow with some type of correction cream for finer scratches then use a really high quality wax/sealant to top it off.
If possible, clear out your garage and do it in there. I’ve found that waxes and other compounds don’t like sunlight. They will bake onto your paint and be really hard to remove.

Ya in my opinion, it is a very reasonable price for everything that is done and the quality of work preformed on the car.
For a well taken care of car that is in for a complete, we usually expect it to take around six hours. This Benz today took me around 7.5. I’ll admit I worked a bit slower than normal and was helping to train a new guy so that slowed me down a bit.
A car that is trashed inside and out can easily take 8-10 hours.

Damn look at the depth! That came out stunning.
